PENNSYLVANIA CENTER FOR INTERNATIONAL EXCHANGE AND PARTNERSHIP
Founder and President/CEO
The Pennsylvania Center for International Exchange and Partnership (PCIEP) was founded by Robert William and is based in Elizabethtown, Pennsylvania, USA. Robert was born in Chennai, India and was educated in three different countries in Africa - Ethiopia, Sierra Leone, and Zambia – prior to coming to the United States in 1978 as an international student. After a successful career in the Pennsylvania State Government where he was appointed Special Assistant for International Relations from 2000 to 2002, Robert turned his focus to a field that was not only his life journey but something he is very passionate about: international education.
His professional and life journey has equipped him with the right skill sets to help students at institutions in the United States to study abroad. He once titled his speech at convocation at Bethel College, Kansas, Study Abroad: Don’t Leave College without it. He is passionate about international education and is committed to promoting the cause of international education in as many avenues as possible and in as many countries as possible around the world.
Robert’s experience as an international student in the United States has positioned him to effectively reach out to international students and help in the recruitment and placement of international student in the United States. In 2006, Robert was invited by the State Department to speak at the Africa Region Educational Advisors Conference in Johannesburg, South Africa on the topic, Marketing Higher Education in the United States. The conference was attended by EducationUSA advisors from over 30 African nations.
